For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Our son is in Div 072. Got a letter from him today, sounds like all is good although he can't wait for PIR!

what's his name? my fiancées name is Trent Pfeifle. He says they get in trouble a lot because people don't know how to be quiet.

I got a phone call today!! :D everything is going well, although 2 sailors didn't make it through basic they have already been sent home.

Got a call today - so so happy =)
This is what I was able to get from him in regards to the divison:
PSA final 2/3
final Academic 2/4 (fire fighting, antiterrorism, etc)
Battle Stations 2/8-9
have earned 4 flags as a divison: Zone Insp, Drill Insp, Athletic & Academic (need to have these 4 for PIR) they could earn a few more, but he doubts as a division it will happen
they have started a countdown to PIR
pictures were taken, but orders were not placed as of yet
had 77 in divison now down to 66
Not much personal info, but this is the best information I could get - I'm sure some of these dates will be moved, if I have learned anything so far, the Navy is "hurry up & wait, and schedule will probably change"
2 weeks most of us will be packing - Hooyah!

We got a call too......I am a happy Momma!!! We heard about the same as you did Cheerpuk and also heard of everything he wants to do after PIR. Go out for French Toast, walk around Best Buy and sit in a comfortable chair. He said all they do is sit on the floor or in an uncomfortable desk. He thought 17 days until PIR but I corrected him, 15!!!!!!!!
