FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

The Questionaires

There are many questionaires that you can send to your recruit and you can find them on various sites.  Some of them are read only and many have some of the same questions.  Jessica has put together a whole list of various questionaires.  One night, when like many of you, I was worried, lonely, and couldn't sleep I went through many of them and tried to organize them into categories that I thought would be fun.  Here they are...I hope you enjoy them.  Print them off..send them and then report back and let us know if your recruit enjoyed them and how they responded.  They only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete and should get you a wealth of information.

These surveys are great! I wish there were more. I will send one every week. Are the SRs allowed to attend church?

Yes they are allowed on Sundays to attend.  I believe it is non-denominal from what I was told.

There are several churches the recruits can attend a nondemonination church, Catholic, Muslim (I think), Jewish, Mormon etc.  One of them serves donuts....lol...it is not the nondenominational one....lol

are there any more questoinares anyone knows of?  I love these!

My son wrote and said he had to throw these questionaires away, they were not allowed to answer them. I was a little bummed out but I don't want any of your SR's to get into trouble.
