I had a message that some moms and wives wanted me to post the info about PIR ribbons I make. They were worried that some people might only be on these discussions and not see the ribbon info on the main page. So at their request here it is. :) There are more pics on my page as well as pics of Navy scrapbook embellishments I make and sell.  Everyone who orders ribbons gets a free handmade scrapbook embellishment with their order. It is hard to believe how soon your PIR is. We are trying to get over a winter storm. We got about a foot of snow the last couple of days, way too much for NC lol. We just aren't equipped to get rid of it like they are up north. If you have questions or want more info send me a message or friend request. Thanks

I received a call yesterday and was able to talk for some time.  So glad I didn't miss the second call!  Was happy that he sounds optimistic, doing well, has gained about 10 pounds so far (and needed to, he was too skinny).  Hope you all received good words, too!

hcr83 that is great!  I got a call from Blake yesterday also.  He sounded okay, but has a little cold.  He did not say if he gained weight, I hope he did because he really needs it too!  He said he probably wouldn't get to call for another couple of weeks.
I know I posted this on the main thread, but I wanted to share it here too :) I got a letter today, dated 1/9/11 : ) he sounds wonderful!  He said he is going to be getting a haircut and will be getting fitted for a new uniform. , that he has passed all his tests, He wrote letters to both of my daughters too (they are very close in age). Again he said the food isn't bad and they even gave them a snickers for dessert lol!  Great letter!!
Where is everyone statying? I am staying at the Red Carpet Inn in North Chicago it is real close to the Recruit Center and provides a bus to it on graduation day.
I'm at the SpringHill in Waukengan
Anyone in this group who might be able to get a picture of "Kathleen's" sailor for her at PIR?  They are not going.  If you can, please post on the main board and she can private message you more info.  I know she would appreciate it!
Thanks.  TheBobstersMom will try to get one for me.
