Hi Everyone. This will be such an exciting day for you. I got my call around 12:30pm Pacific time on fri. So 2 or 2:30 chicago time. I was lucky I did'nt have to wait too long. Good Luck to you all!

nrstami - My son didn't call me with the good news until nearly 5pm last Friday. He had a late afternoon dental appointment (can you imagine having a dental appt. after battle stations?!? Yikes!) that had to be squeezed in before he left for "A" school. I have heard that the call times can vary.

Best wishes and hugs to all of the moms/girlfriends waiting for "the call" today. I have my blue candle burning and I'm praying for all of your sailors.

Stacey - after my son called me on Friday, he got to call his friends after we spoke, then he called me back for a few minutes after he spoke to them. I think the scenario is that they get 30 mins on the phone and they can call as many people as they want during that time period.

I am wearing my Navy Mom t-shirt, and counting down the time for this afternoon for the call. Another question, how many calls? Will the girlfriend get one too? Or just parents?

yes i am def going to graduation!!! I actually dropped a class because I had a quiz that day, and im having to go to earlier classes for that day just to catch my flight.. Im not missing it for anything! lol. I was talking about after graduation. He said to his mom he doesnt mine staying locally. But before he left to boot he was set on going to chicago. He's really laid back and kinda goes with the flow, so im amusing he doesnt care as long as me and his parents are there with him. But we can play it by ear

So i need some advice. We think Ian leaves Sat at like 10AM. Should we even take the trip to Chicago?? I just think we would have more time to do stuff if we stayed locally but then again he really wanted to go to this restaurant in chicago, but told me and his mom just to do whatever we want..he's not a very big help lol
