Hi Sash! Yes, his A school is at the DLI. I can't wait to fly out and visit him. I've been to CA lots of times, but have never been to Monterey. Can't wait!

Taylor seems to be doing some "time passing" classes as well in Monterey. Three months is a long time before classing up. There are 2 other sailors in his A school from Ship 10 - one guy and one girl - so they've all been hanging out together when they have free time.

That's good to know, Cindy! I hope the homework at language school is handled the same way. My son is also a procrastinator, so I can totally relate.
Comment by Nancy (Taylor's mom) on February 2, 2010 at 6:41pm
My son's A school is 64 weeks of language school...7 hours a day, 5 days a week with 2-3 hours of homework every night. The homework part scares me as he was not exactly eager to do homework when he was in high school.

Taylor will not be starting his official classes in Monterey until May. He'll be taking some other qualification courses until then. The other language school moms I have talked to say they spend all of their time until the official classes start doing the following: a) Cleaning b) Shopping c) Eating out. My boy is going to be broke!!
