cyndaroo:  I agree with Lala. Price separately...I have read many times on here that when people went on the airlines sites directly, they found cheaper prices.  Also, make sure to check AAA rates with the hotels too if you have that...sometimes cheaper than the PIR rate.

Hi Cyndaroo,

My son is on the same ship and DIV as your daughter.  I think there are alot of girls in this DIV.

I think southwest is also the only one who doesn't charge a change fee if you had to change the tickets to a later date. I saw that on a TV commercial yesterday. Before you get a package deal price them individually as well. With the PIR hotel rates it may be better to do them separately.

I just got my daughters form letter Friday last week.  It was SO GOOD to see her words in "print".  I can't wait for a real letter.  It's been 2 weeks now that our loved ones have been"in" and their body's are probably VERY sore!  We are really missing our daughter.  She always had a smile for us when we got home tired from work.  She isn't the usual teenager that never smiles.  She wrote:  I love you and can't wait to see you all again!! *heart"heart*heart*

It will be such a wonderful time at the Graduation.  We need to start looking for flights.  Has anyone found that it's cheaper to get a package or to book them separately?  Looks like Southwest has good prices and I don't think they charge for baggage.  Those of you who haven't gotten your letter yet, it should be any day now.  Frustrating!!

navymalespouse.  Her recruiter won't have it.  It comes from RTC.  You will just need to wait.  Hopefully it shows up soon.  I suggested another person on here call the Public Affairs Office to see about at least getting the password for the gate pass which is in the letter---hers hasn't arrived either...no luck.  They won't give that info out. Hopefully the letter will come this week or next.

If I have not received the form letter yet (wife arrived 1/18) can I get it from her recruiter or do I still just continue to wait?
Comment by diannep on February 2, 2011 at 3:21pm
Another reason to print pictures on the backs of letters is because the recruits have very limited storage space to hold actual pictures.

LovinMa:  When you talk to your bf, ask him what day he is week/day he is on...if he calls on a Friday, for instance, then Friday will always be the same day number...the week number just changes.  Weekends and holidays don't count.  So since Presidents Day hits your PIR group, the day numbers will shift back a day after that.  I never paid much attention to the days...just focused on BattleStations and PIR!
