dianep - the only reason my kid didn't complain is he was alergic to penicilian.  He didn't have to take it.

oh the penut butter shot sounds horrible (well at least to me cuz i hate needles) but im sure that needle was the least of their worries....so when they are in 6-5 it is actually 7weeks and 5 days that they are away from home? is everybody on the same schedule as far as days (like an SR who got there on the 18th on the same schedule as one who got there on the 19th?) and would today be 1-3?? im just tryna understand how this goes because if my boyfriend writes me using this system as his date i wnt even know wat he's talkin about because u guys said that they dnt have calenders!! and i see what your talkin about as far as our group growing!! the more the merrier at least they can finally have a group to join!!

Peanut butter shot is a very strong antibiotic that we were told they were given to wipe everything out...and even for STDs. And, uh...Craig....maybe only you and my son were "man" enough to take it without complaining :-) j/k....it is a rather large needle and they are sore for a while from that one....but they recover!

LovinMa:  My son did BattleStations on 6-5 (week 6, day 5) when he was there...he went the first night of BattleStations for his PIR group which was 8 days before PIR. Usually BattleStations comes from 6-5 into the 7th week of training.  BattleStations is their last test and then they are sailors.

What is happening with the group growing is that they lost some, and now are getting new ones back (those from earlier PIR groups who were setback and are now ready to resume training).  The groups usually average 65-70 by PIR time, give or take a few.

I really liked this.  It really lets me know all that she is doing. What's up with the peanut butter shot? Yeah my daughter was trying to study naval history. Hope she did great.  Thanks for all your info.

I thought they are on their second week? Right?

yes craig i believe so...my SR got to GL on the 18th...and i believe another mom/girlfriend/wife said that they recieved a letter or call from their SR and he said that they were only on week 1....so by calculating there time in GL how many weeks do they have left to go...because to me he has been gone for over 2weeks but they are saying that its just week 1
