Robin, Yea for you letter!

grrr.... this is SO NOT FAIR!  How come others in hubs div are getting letters & none here... :(  Oh well, I'll just keep repeating "no news is good news"

"no news is good news" "no news is good news" "no news is good news" "no news is good news" "no news is good news" "no news is good news"  LOL

We heard from my sr via letter...or his gf  did   Shey got 3 letters in one envelope Mom got none so far.   Hopefully soon   But gf shared  Only one had a date on it of Jan 24  but the others were messier so I think that one was writtern later on

Here are the highlights

My biggest frustation about this entirely stressful situation is that the windows are tinted and just like a prison, maybe an American internment camp, a place where you've saved my nerves a few times now.

Music has been one of the best things of bootcamp;  From the airport corridor where we were screamed at and sent to processing by an RCD to the haircut line with Janis Joplin or the sickbay for an HIV test with Bob Marley

Im the Port Divison watch in the 900th division section, an important marching role

I dont blend in well  My tactics of not thinking does not help yet if I ask questions my name become f%&k face or retard  Its the first time in my life that skill has not helped me above all that is killing me

One another note, the food is great and healthy  My canteen has been full the entire time with tea leaves from the cafetaria another relief!

From the first day we arrived it may have been the longest and a wake up call,  lasted a total of 76 hours without sleep It only gets worst as I was expected to memorize things in that mindframe

I believe that surviving bootcamp at this point is going to be at best animalistic

We march for at least two miles to sick bay and then two miles back for shots, dental, etc.

Really there are no worries, but time will tell

We got it! The much anticipated first letter!  Glad to see his handwriting on the envelope.  He says all is well and confirmed all the comments here on the shots and blisters.

Oh yeah, speaking of my dad... I told this to the fb group on chat last night:

My dad wanted me to tell everyone on here that "recruits are NOT in season right now, so the RDCs can't shoot them!"  He hopes that makes everyone's day a little brighter & helps to ease some of your worries! ;p lol

Did anyone in div 918 receive a real letter yet besides NavyMomAllison?  Just curious?

Mae gf, HOO YAH!!!  So happy you got your letter! :)

I think I'm gonna have to crash the Radison party!!  We'll probably be staying at the Navy Lodge or with a friend of my folks in Waukegan.  We will be heading down Tues. night after I'm done working because my dad has a meeting at RTC Wed. morning.  So if anyone else is arriving early I'd be glad to meet up for some fun ahead of time!
