Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Wooo hoooo! Got the form letter. Now MIL and I can rest easy. Officially in this pir group! Note was cute "can't wait to see you when the hard part is over" lol.

Welcome Wayne's mom - My son got to GL on the 26th.  Hang with us and we will all know soon enough what our SR's PIR date is!  And yes, the info on this site is a life saver!

I think this is where I belong? My son got to GL on the 27th. I might have jumped the gun and joined before getting any info but it's nice to read all your comments and know everyone is feeling the same as I am... :(

Hi everyone. New to group. I originally thought my husbands pir was the 18th but now it looks like the 25th. So I am happy to join this group just sad to have another week of waiting! Lol

Just got my form letter today! Official date IS 3/25! :) And now I can mail that 5 page letter I've bee working on since he left last week. I'm so excited!

It's bad. The mailman was so used to me opening my door quick and running he knocked and said you got it! Kid in a box just sounds so funny Lol. He decided to donate his clothes. He figured he's not gonna be the same afterwards so why bother keeping them. And yea it was about 10 days before he could even get this letter sent out.

just recieved my kid in a box........he did get to write a quick note....I love you mom, tell everyone I said hi, which made me feel much better. No form letter though...I guess it's time to start running after the mailman.
