Missy:You probably have another week..unless they are able to write early in his division.  It usually takes about 2 weeks before they can write, but sometimes it could be earlier. They don't receive mail for 2 weeks. It is held for them.

Mine left 25th and arrived the same day so I wonder if my letter will come soon?

Ladies:  Just a reminder. NO last names on this board...I haven't seen any on this PIR group, but have seen some used on other ones.  It is against Navy security and also identifies you with your recruit.  Not a good thing to do!  The RDCs do read these posts...and although we love them and how they make our recruits into sailors... :-)  best not to connect recruits with the ladies on here!   More importantly, it violates Navy security.

Yea I thought it would have been the 18th as well, but you have to add the processing days. But it's still so close either way. Next month is short:)

I think that some of them thought they would have PIR on the 18th and when they got the letter it said the 25th so they thought the 18th was being skipped but it isn't. Their PIR is just a week later than anticipated and hoped for. It will be good though because now they can reach out to others who are in the same "boat" and have the same PIR as well as stay connected to those who have PIR on the 18th. Just one great big N4M's Happy Family :)

Ashley, when did you SR leave for BC?
Comment by SubWife5611 on January 31, 2011 at 3:17pm
I'm not sure about the whole skipping a week, I don't know where that came from. He for sure said 3/25 in his letter:)

Good Afternoon, ladies. I am Betsy and also a very proud mom to a sailor. I will also be checking in on here everyday to offer help or answers questions that you may all have, as Lala, JessicaB and Dianne do.
My youngest son is in Pensacola at the current time, and is waiting to start his A school classes. In the meantime he is doing his ATT classes. His rate is AT. He is the youngest of my 5 adult children.
My middle daughter's soon to be fiance (they are searching for rings now) is also in the Navy. He is currently stationed in Hawaii and his rate is ET (I believe) and he is on a submarine. He will have another year and a half in Hawaii, and my daughter will be moving there to be with him for his final year, this coming May, after her graduation from college. In the last year, I have learned quite a bit about becoming a military family. I hope I am able to help you start your journeys too. :)

Ok, I'm missing something here.  What makes you all think that they will skip a week in March for PIR?  They do skip sometimes, that's true.  But I don't think that it is every month. I know they didn't in Nov.
