Hi everyone, I am sorry it took me so long to join your group. I was in VA helping my sailor move into her first apartment. Something else for you to look forward to. I hate that some of you thought PIR was a week sooner and it is not but everything happens for a reason and who knows maybe there is someone here that is really going to need your friendship and now you are in the right place:)

For those of you who don't know me I am a somewhat "seasoned" mom. I actually have 2 sailors. My daughter who had PIR in July is now finished with A- & C-school and is at her first duty station in VA. My son-in-law who just finished A-school in Pensacola and will be going to VA within the next couple of weeks. Our family has been through a lot of different things since this roller-coaster started so I am here to offer help or advice for those who need it. This is my way of paying it forward. If anyone came to this group from the 3-18 PIR group and had already ordered ribbons I have already changed your PIR date in my order book so we are good to go :) My sailor(daughter) was in the 900's div and was in the choir, she was also a grad and go and on a chartered flight, she had wisdom teeth pulled and was a stick. She is an AO and went to Pensacola for A-school. If nayone has any questions at all please let me know or send me a friend request. I am more than happy to help in any way I can. I did see in the last group, that they were sending band-aids. I know that sounds like a good idea, but I know he'll get a kick out of that, so I think I'll send some in my letters just to get a laugh out of him!

The thing is Net, they have to be processed in too before they start BC. Which could be the delay. When he called last night, he said the stuff was for processing to finish up, so it's 8 weeks exactly now. That extra week or so does stink, but hey that's nearly 2 weeks closer to seeing them!

Ashley:  They hold the mail from the recruits for the first 2 weeks.  So writing your letters now is perfect timing!  Those who have written before now (to a recruiter's address) ---their letters would be held now from the recruits...they will all be given to the recruits probably in another week.

Thank you! It's so nice to have an actual date now, unless something holds him back, and an address! Finally I can bombard him with my letters Lol. I just have so much to tell him:)

Welcome, Ashley and netlas!....questions?  Just ask.  Jessica, Lala, Betsy, and I are on here to help with them...all veteran moms.  Jessica and I have been on for over a year....Betsy and Lala more recently.  We would be happy to help any of you!  Also, please check out the info in the discussion groups above.

netlas:  Good news about being a part of this group rather than 3/18:  It may be a little warmer for PIR!  :-)

I agree with Betsy, SSMom.  Jessica would too...she flew into Milwaukee also.  You also avoid the Chicago traffic that way!  It is a straight shot down the interstate to GL from there.  Wish we had done that and saved some money!
