Hi everyone.
My last official post in this group. I will be lurking around subs and Groton CT now lol.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the support you all have been so awesome.

Ashley Jennifer and Annie it was fun sitting with you at graduation! And nice meeting you Sherri.

Keep in touch and good luck to all of you.

I had an amazing time with my husband. He made it safe to CT just wish we had more time.

I give lots of support to the residence inn they were awesome.

Take care ladies and hope to keep in touch!

The weekend is over and our sailor is now in A school.  Now we wait for another 14 weeks until we get to see him again.  At least we get to communicate via cell phone and internet.

I'm going to third the support for The Residence Inn in Waukegan -- reasonable prices, great location -- my room was wonderful and clean. I got a studio so I had a kitchenette so I could make my husband the homemade mac and cheese that he kept requesting.

The bonus for me was that I could bring the dog rather than kenneling her for less than the cost that kenneling her would have been. Coming back from the airport today after watching him board a plane was a lot better with her here than I think it would have been without!

Anyone who lives in the VA Beach/Norfolk area. There is a group of us planning on meeting one day for lunch (shooting for Thursday) the last week of April. I will be there that week for spring break. We would love to meet as many other moms/families etc as possible for lunch one day. If you have a sailor there and they could possible come that would be awesome. If you are in that area and would like to join us please let me know. Send me a private message with your name and number. We will keep the time and place in private message as well. Thanks

We are staying at the Residence Inn too.  It has been nice and it's relatively close to the base.

We're staying at The Residence Inn in Waukegan. Very nice. And we used the shuttle from there to PIR and back and that worked out well...Your day is coming soon! Get ready for a special time with your Sailor!

Hi 3-25-11 Moms.  Congratulations to both you and your Sailors!!  Good job!

I am in the 4-8 PIR Group.  I am hoping you guys could post here where you stayed and any hints you may have for us when we get to Chicago.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know you are all having a wonderful time!  Congratulations again!

Hi guys!

I am so excited I can't even sit straight!!!

My hunny's grandma is here for PIR tomorrow and we have a wheelchair.

Anyone know how the process works with a wheelchair?  We are taking the shuttle from the Residence Inn to base.

Also where is the closest place to drill hall?  Shuttle or drive in?

We made it here;) Nice hotel! Does feel weird to be so close to our Sailors! It's like we're breathing the same air as them now!! haha

Elizabeth, I'll have some stories to tell you about our road trip up here! I typed you a message from our hotel room last night but right as I finished it something happened and it was gone!! Guess I'm not used to this laptop! I'll have to redo it! This is so exciting just as you said it would be!
