For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Jean-I booked mine through Hotwire since that's the cheapest I found. After I booked it, that's when they tell you the name of the rental company. So the one I got is Hertz. The total came out to $89.24 from 3/24 to 3/28.
Diannep-thanks! I hope they have a courtesy bus for Hertz too. So did you just walk outside and wait for the bus or did you go to their counter first?

MissingSailor: We rented from Budget at Ohare and their courtesy bus, which circles out front of the terminal, took us to their pickup lot/office. I feel sure that Hertz is the same.

ashley: Navy = nothing is "positive!" HA! They can change things at any time and do. At this time, we have heard that 109 and 110 will be going through the night of the 17th/morning of the 18th...phone calls will come in the afternoon of Fri, the 18th.

MissingsailorD, We are flying in on 3/24 and arriving at Ohare at 8:20pm. We are scheduled to rent from Dollar. What rate did you get from Hertz?

Also, are we all positive that 109 does BS the night of the 17th? I have to work the 18th and I don't wanna miss that darn call! If it is that night, I'm calling off Lol
