For anybody staying at the Ramada, do we sign up for the shuttle upon arrival?
Comment by diannep on March 11, 2011 at 3:34pm
Gwynhwyfar:  Are you talking about transportation to the base and back for PIR?  If so, we stayed at Residence.  You sign up when you check in for the shuttle time you want,  They will call the amount of taxis(shuttles are taxis) needed then. We left on the 6:30 one and were in the PIR Hall a few minutes after 7.  So just be sure to sign up when you check in.  It is $3/pp each way and your sailor comes back on it for free.

I am so glad you all are okay SSmom. I just read on another page that the recruits have been told about the earthquake and tsunami and those who have family members in any of the areas affected are getting to make calls home to check on their families. I am sure speaking to them will bring them some much needed reassurance.

Thanks Lala. We are all fine here in the Bay Area. The Bay Area coastline has missed most of the tsunami action so far. However, we are still under a watch for the rest of the day. The major damage is in a harbor in Santa Cruz. Crazy stuff! The marina by our house didn't see any change at all. We are farther inland though. :)

Anyone staying at the Residence Inn -- I know that they have a shuttle, but does anyone know how I go about arranging to get transportation there for me and back for me and my SR? Help! :)
