Tomorrow will be better Ashley, I had one of those days yesterday, couldn't even THINK about my son without crying, but its a little better today.  This site helps A LOT.

diannep: He is flying out to Pensacola, FL.  I'm not sure when he is actually leaving though.  The recruiter said all recruites fly out the same day, but I've learned from this site, that isn't always true.  So as of right now, I'm not sure.  But I'll get those things together for him.  Thanks for the info!!!

Good Morning! One more day closer to seeing our SR's ! I can't wait. Ashley, take it easy and enjoy your son and maybe that will help you get thru the day. I bet your son is sooo cute! Sherri, congrats on your flag carrying daughter! I'll be looking for her! Have a wonderful day ladies!

I got a letter from my daughter yesterday. She will be carrying a flag during PIR, so look for the North Carolina flag and that is my daughter. She passed her first PFA and got promoted to E2. She sounded like things were going good but the processing was miserable. She has to get her wisdom teeth out also. Now waiting for a phone call, hopefully that will come soon.

For those who think that their sailors may be GradNGo to Great Lakes, please check out ProudUSAMom's post on the PIR 2/18 group this morning.  Long and full of good info for you!  Her sailor was in the 2/11 group...she was posting info she learned.

MissingSailor:  Since he will be carrying that bag while in formal uniform, I would not give him a bag with multicolors on it.  Plain black is a better choice.  Backpack too because if you see all they have to carry, you will realize that they need some kind of hands-free luggage!  The seabag is huge and they have a garment bag also with their uniforms in it.

mrshdge:  Where will your hubby be in A School?  What many bring to PIR for their sailors are the following:  laptop, cell, a few civilian clothes.  Now, if he happens to be staying in GL and moves over there before you leave GL, he can take these things to his new base after he is off RTC. If he moves over there after you leave, you will need to store at:

www.thelockandgo.com

and he can get them later (they usually share a cab to go retrieve their belongings).

If he is flying out for A School, you can bring these same things...but only can give them to him if you meet him at the airport and have them in a black bag/backpack.  He cannot take anything back to RTC with him.  I wasn't able to meet my son at the airport, so mailed to him once he was settled on his A School base.

Praying for a call today (fingers, toes, and everything else crossed!)

Bags for A School... I'm so behind... Is there a list of things I should be getting ready for my hubby's A School?
