Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I'm soooooo happy you all got calls!!!! I'm hoping Div 113 gets calls today or tomorrow!!
Does anyone know how things will go at PIR... How will we know where to meet them after graduation?
Also, I've decided to use public transportation once in GL... any suggestions?

horrible, horrible, badddd day. I was at work & my boyfriend called twice. & guess what I did. I missed them! My boss was in the break room & I went in there to check my phone. I had 2 missed calls & 2 voicemails. As soon as I seen the number I was hysterical. BAD. Bawling & bawling. My boss told me to go on break. He was really understanding. All the other days my phone is glued to my hand. Of course I had my phone on my but a lot of people were texting me so I didn't even take note when my phone was vibrating. ugh. This sucks. I knowww it made him sad I didn't answer. :( I wish he got another chance to call :(

MissingSailor: We rented at Ohare. Budget. I think they had a special going on for that weekend....we got a full-size SUV for $35/day, I believe. We were there the first weekend in Feb so wanted something heavier for possible snowy roads.

Oh wait, Hotwire is actually really cheap. The down side is I won't know what car rental company I'll get until I finish booking. Hmm, this is worth considering!

diannep-Did you rent at O'Hare Airport? Do you remember which company and how much? I looked at Alamo and Hertz and so far Alamo is the cheaper one of the two.

MissingSailor: Jessica and I suggest renting a car if you can. Either at the airport, or like Lala said, you can take the train to GL and rent there. For us, renting at the airport was a breeze...take rental car shuttle to their car place on outskirts of airport...and off we went!

Booked my flight and hotel! :D Should I rent a car? A car will be useful if we decide to go out "sight-seeing or shopping." I'd figure my SR will probably just wanna relax and hangout at the hotel. But I can also use the car to pick him up and drop him off. Any suggestions?
