For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I had a quick question. my boyfriend gradates 3/25, he's division 109. his parents recieved all the brochures and information a little over a week ago but i was wondering if the places given offer discounts because of the event. same question for when they rent a car. Any help is appreciated :)!

Hello everyone, I received a check in the mail yesterday from someone ordering ribbons from me to wear to PIR. There was no other info with the check, no PIR date, recruit name, or div # and no phone number on the check. If you name is LeChell N please send me a message. I don't have an order for you and I need the rest of your info so I can make your ribbons. Thanks

MissingSailorD, I watch the PIR videos on youtube too!!! I get tears watching and thinking of when it's our turn to be there! The Sailors look so proud to be in their uniform and I can just imagine my son! No, you're not weird!! It helps us to see what we have to look forward to!

Thanks for the encouraging words ProudNavyWife :) I cant wait to hear his voice, even if it's only for 5 minutes! The only call I got was him asking for his bank account info. I was already hysterical then! I'll really need to compose myself if I get another call from him. I wrote down a list of things I wanna ask and say to him.
Diannep-Yea, I wrote to my husband that I wanna get the DVD. I'll also record it so I can show it to his parents when I get back.

MissingSailor: Yes, you can record the PIR yourself. The PIR DVD is the professional one. And just a point....if your camera malfunctions, you will have the PIR DVD so I would get it. They get a closeup of them as they pass the "review stand." Worth the money to me!

ProudNavyWife: His rate is HM, one of our friends was also a HM, he told us Corpsmen A school is right across from RTC. I also looked it up online.

My eyes started getting teary from watching PIR videos on youtube. I imagine watching my husband marching and wearing the sailor's uniform. lol.. am I weird?
Are we allowed to video record them during PIR? I thought we're not supposed to. Isn't that why they ask us to buy the video from them?

ElizabethC, yes, I'm on fb and I did find the RTC fb page! I do the same thing..I see a picture and stare at it looking for my son! I know he wouldn't even be in any pics yet but I can always hope that one day I'll see him on there! Their fb page is very good and informing as well as N4Ms! Funny thing is I even go to my sons fb page just to feel close to him even though I know there's no way he'd be online!
