Thanks to Lala, diannep & Elizabeth for the info and encouragement you give us....I can't tell you how often I'm on N4Ms just to somehow feel like I'm connected to my son. I'm always looking for something on here to let me know what to expect next..like when a call may possible come..It helps so much that you're on giving us advice and assurance. I appreciate it so much. Who better to understand what a mom is going through....than another mom! Dads are awesome too...they are proud and supportive as well....but a Mother's heart is constantly with her children.

I know the last 2 to 3 weeks or in some cases even longer have been very hard for most of you. Just know that as each day passes you are one day closer to being with your sailor for PIR. Keep the letters going to your recruit and get creative, especially if you run out of things to write about. You can send inspirational cards, letters from their pet, neighborhood gossip, poetry, they love jokes, it really doesn't matter as long as you write. They live for mail call each night and sometimes your letter may be just what they need to feel like they can get through another day. Before you know it you will be making a list of what you need to take and packing your bags. Okay, I know some of you are already doing that right? lol

I hope you have a great Valentines day that is filled with sunshine and happiness :-)

Ladies, on the "scheduled" phone calls...just remember, that they can be taken away.  Pray that they aren't, but sometimes they will lose a call because of one person's behavior.  But hoping that the calls come this week as ProudNavyWife said!

Elizabeth!  Wow, what a kind thing to say!  Thanks!  I am so glad that I could help you and along with the other wonderful veteran moms on here (like you are now!), I am here to help anyone else.  So you all just ask!  We veterans will try to cover all questions to the best of our ability!

Congrats on your new sailor, Elizabeth!

Hello PIR 3/25....I am a mom of a Sailor who PIRd 12/22 I've read some of your posts and I can feel all the feelings you all are having and believe me when I say my heart is with all of you. One of my Sailor's bestfriends is in GL right now Div 109 (another reason I checked in) I think of him often and will be cheering him on along with the rest of the SRs. My son is now in Groton he is a SECF I saw mention that there were other SECFs in this group, I am in no way an expert but just know you have a mom here will to help or give support to all of you we had other mom's that had been through BC with their Sailor's that would give advice and answer our questions for our PIR group and I just want to pay it forward because their knowledge awesome at times I needed it the most I will check in with you all periodically...:0)

Diannep - you were an amazing support to me through my Sailor's BC journey I know these mom's/wives and girlfriends are in amazing company
