Kathy-Thank you! A recruit's gf from the same division got 4 letters in one day! Other wives and moms also got mail. I just hope he's not getting punished or something that he didn't even have time to write or call :( My SR can get a bit stubborn sometimes. I'm going to keep writing until one week before PIR! It's Sunday today so I hope I get a call from him. :)

No calls and no mail :( It's been 3 weeks! *sigh* I mailed him phone cards, stamps and self-addressed envelopes. I wonder why I still haven't received anything.

Sometimes whole divisions are "Saturday Departures" (we on N4M's call it Grad and Go because that's what our recruits call it and what the RDC's call it as well.  My sailor was in DIV 936 in July and the whole division was grad and go, they were all going to different places. There were more than 160 sailors going to Pensacola and they chartered a flight and went straight from the base to the jet and didn't come into the airport. The good news is this doesn't happen very often. In fact, this is the only time since July that I have heard of it happening. And the man at the USO in the Airport said he had been there for 20+ years and had never heard of it before. Also our daughter knew by the 5th week she was leaving on Saturday' Some know as early as week 4 and some don't find out until close to PIR. I know it is confusing and frustrating but my best advice is if your recruit doesn't know then plan on staying the whole weekend and if he/she has to leave on Saturday go out and do some site seeing and have some fun. You deserve it after all you have been through :-)
