Navywife, I'm headed to get mine on Friday afternoon as soon as I have some time off work. I'm so excited too!! I felt like a nerd and I'm glad I wasn't the only one. :)

MissingSailor- are you planning on driving to PIR?  When you ask about how long to take off of work that would all depend on how much time you will have with your SR.  Hopefully our division (even though rumor has it) isn't GradNGo.  I sure hope we get the weekend with them at least.

I haven't planned my trip there yet.  Sort of have a large group from different areas coming that makes it hard to plan!  LOL  But I will get in gear soon and get everything arranged.  Between me and my MIL we will get it taken care of!  LOL

I haven't heard how the weather is there, but I am praying that it isn't as horrible as it has been for our SRs during PIR time.  Once you get your ID try the lodge or the other one if you are trying to save money. hehe.

MissingSailor -- We booked rooms at the Navy Lodge. We don't have military ID either - if you tell them that you have a recruit at RTC and you're booking for graduation, they will reserve the room under your recruits name. They might ask you to have your recruit stop in with military ID after PIR, but you won't need it to check in. (At least, that's what they told me.)

I'm debating if I should take 2 days (3/24 & 3/25) off from work. I'm worried about the weather delay. Anyone know what the weather will be like around then?

Okay I am such a nerd but I am sooo excited!  I just got home from the base and got my Military ID and insurance all squared away!

The wonderful lady that helped me was laughing because I said I felt like I was 16 getting my license.  Haha.  It was so cool going to the commisary and exchange and just walk around.  It is an airforce base but I did see one sailor there!  Such a fun afternoon exploring!

Just posted info on RTC leadership positions with those of us who have SR in those roles. Great info! Thanks again, Jessica. :)

I received a letter from my son today dated the 7th. (He arrived at BC on Thursday, Jan. 27th) He said that it was going well except for the screaming. The food was alright but they were mostly folding and ironing clothes and making sure their uniforms were clean. He said they only exercised for a half an hour a day(which disappoints him greatly). He said they red flagged him for his asthma, acne, and a finger that has pins in it from a fracture. He said he would be going to the medical department Monday to see if he can stay in the Navy. Now, he went 3 times to MEPS to have physicals. We disclosed everything during those appts.so why would they now be questioning them?  Wouldn't his recruiter or MEPS have said something to us? Since it is Wednesday already is there a way to find out what's going on? Hopefully someone has an idea!

Thanks

jenine:  There are 7 divisions in this group.  There probably will be between 450 and 550 graduate.  They start with 88 in each division, but have lost many of them by PIR.  They gain some too...but never as many as they have lost.
