navywife23- it depends a lot on how long his A-school is. If A-school is considered very short they will wait until he is at his first duty station. But Diannep is right you will be able to get a lot more info in one of the wife groups or maybe even in the group for his A-school or his rate.

navywife23:  Are you on any of the N4M wife groups?  I'm thinking that someone on there will have info for you.  Or...if you know where he will be going to A School, a wife on that group also can help.

So glad that we are a small PIR group...  : )  It will be so nice to get extra people in.

I have a quick question for the experienced Moms and Wives out there...

when my husband goes to ASchool after PIR how and when does the navy move me?  I am not really sure how this works....Thanks for the insight.

Waynesmom, that is true. And the good thing is you only have 7 divisions for your PIR so there will be plenty of room, bring the whole family lol. We took 4 extra guests when my daughter had PIR in July and there were 13 divisions and everyone got in with no trouble at all. There will only be room for 4 on the lists but the others should be able to get in with no problem. They will have to have a gate pass if they are not in the car with you so print extra's when the time comes. And then have them go through the check-in line with you. And kids 12 and under do not need to be on the list. Everyone, on the list or not will need ID.

Does anyone know if it is true that if there's extra room at a PIR they'll let you bring in more than 4 guests?

You are welcome, netlas.  Lala, Jessica and Betsy add alot of info also...all veterans....we we will keep doing what we can!

Ricky Heaven is located by the NEX.  And, yes, you are allowed on that part of the base with the gate pass...so-- many times, families will hang out on base with their SR.  You just are prohibited from going through most of the base...they keep you up near the NEX.  And, yes, you can drive into the NEX parking lot to drop them off (gate pass).  We did that with our son, but he couldn't stay long as he wanted to get the long walk in and back to his ship on time...actually, a little early...scared to be late!!!!  He was a GradNGo wo we only did this Fri night.

Don't worry missinghim, I am sure it will be fine. They don't rag them as much about color as they do stickers and hearts and all that stuff people draw on the outside.
