YEA!!!!!! I finally was able to talk to my son... OMG that was the best thing that has happen to me today... He told me to change my flight he is leaving Friday but couldn't tell me where... I thought that was a little strange but right now I'm just on cloud who knows... Knowing he is doing good and I finally got to speak to him.. He talk to his younger brother and his sisters and my mom...

I love the fact we have all been here and with you all of you I'm not sure I would have made it this far... Thanks to Joanne for always hearing me... I would like all of us to keep in touch even after are SR's become SAILORS....

Love you all and Best of LUCK to Div 118...

Bren, I am so glad you got to talk to him!!! Nothing compares to hearing their voices!

Brenda,

I am so so happy for you, I was worried the other night when I talked to you and you had not gotten a call from your son! I have been reading all the post for the last 12 or so hours and noticed that quite a few SR’s have had their A school changed from GL to SA… Fort Sam Houston SA, TX

That is great news for you he will be in your back yard!!! Or not because then he will be that much closer to the GF!!!

I found this information in a news article from July of 2010:

Medical Education Training Campus (METC) part of the 2005 Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) initiative, is an integrated campus under a single university-style administration with more than 100 courses being taught.

Consolidated basic and specialty enlisted training from five separate service medical learning centers have already moved, or are in the process of moving, to San Antonio. Navy commands are the Naval School of Health Sciences at Portsmouth, Va.; the Naval School of Health Sciences in San Diego; and the Naval Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, Ill.

Sorry Kym, Kay, not so good news for you that they have decided to start the move to SA with this PIR group and maybe just our Div?  If there is one thing I have learned so far with BC …..Never write anything in pen, the pen will run out of ink before the navy is through changing your orders…hehehe

4 MORE DAYS....HOOYAH!

I feel like it's the first day @ school all over again. Shopping today for new socks & Dopp bag that hangs with his shaving stuff, also got him a electric razor. Filled his shaving bag with traveI sizes to get him started & put his name on all his stuff (I'm sure he wil LOVE that - lol) I do NOT know how I am going to fit all this crap in his backpak.  I can't wait to see him! Hope we get to spend a couple days together b4 he leaves.

Okay I am just joining the group the week before grad. my son is ship 11 div118 and I am so very excited about seeing him. I have been reading all comments so I am playing catch up. But it is good to see how close this group has become. Look forward to seeing all of you. My family will be staying at the Residence Inn.

Resa

Hey Resa! Welcome aboard...we are always thrilled when get a new Mom in our group!  We are at the Residence Inn as well, we were trying to get a group thing going at maybe the Residence Inn with the us and all our sailors, as there are a few of us in this group staying there.  Not really sure about that now, as it looks as though our guys are going to be grad n go's. I believe that means thery leave PIR with us about noon 30 and then they have to be back on base at 5pm Fri.  Joanne has taken charge of gathering phone numbers so our group has a contact list, if youd like to shoot her a message. (I know this will come in handy if we are all running around Ohare trying to find where our Sailors are)  Anyhow, I'm Michelle (mushell) I am the self appointed nut case in the group!  haha  I am runnin out the door to breakfast with friends, so I'll chat with you more later.
Resa - welcome- we have a meet & greet on Thurs nite if you can make it.

Welcome Resa, I hope you have been catching up on all of our posts. If you missed out, we are all wearing hunter green ribbons, that we made with our SR's last name with div # on it, see my profile pic. I don't want you to feel left out on PIR day. We are staying at the Navy Lodge . I hope you found that there is a "meet and greet" for all us parents, siblings, etc... at the Ramada Inn on Thursday night from 6-8pm. It is at 200 North Green Bay Rd in Waukegan. I actually lost track of who is going to that or not. If i remember correctly I don't think Michelle could make it because she doesn't fly in on time for it. Who else it going to be attending???If you friend me, we have a list of our numbers we can share

chris

Thanks guys for the welcome! I am planning on bring my family to the meet and greet, there will be 4 of us. I am on the ribbon hunt Chris, I will be checking out walmart on tomorrow. I have not heard were my son's A school is going to be but it looks like grad and go. I am so sad about that. I was planning a weekend with him. Oh well, I will take what I am blessed with.

Resa
