Good Evening Everyone,

As some of you may or may not know, my husband passed away last week. His death was VERY unexpected and sudden. Even though I lost my est friend, he went peacefully in his sleep. I called the ARC and had them notify my Marine son, and my daughter, Ship 11, Div 116.

My husband was a retired Marine, who served in the Vietnam War. I was so thankful that all my kids were here for each other. His Memorial Service was yesterday afternoon, and my SR, wore her Travel Service Bress Blues. I did NOT reognize her, until she came right into my arms. I was shocked to see a grown up young woman, and not the teenage daughter that left me back in mid-January. The 5 days she was home, went by so quickly, seems like she just came home yesterday.

Losing a loved one is hard enough, but I just lost my Mom 6 months ago. I am still num from finding my husband gone, last Thursday morning. There are times when I could wind the clock back, and ask God for a different outcome. But when he calls us home, it is our time.

Sorry I didn't get on earlier and say anything, but I have been busy with making arrangements and numerous phone calls. I am not sure if my SR's grad date will change. Does anyone know?

Thank you,

Mother of a SR, who just lost her Husband, Soulmate, and Best Friend

Quiltblue- Do you ever do any quilting for other people. The reason I ask is my Mom pieced together a quilt top as a gift for my dad and then one for me and my twin brothers as well. She is very sick and her Parkinson's makes it impossible for her to complete the quilt tops into quilts. I would love to find someone to finish the one for my dad. I would love for my mom to be able to give it to him herself if she recovers from this pneumonia. I know it takes a lot of work and quilts can be very expensive. If you would be interested in doing something like this send me a private message and let me know what your think it would cost. I believe it is about a full size quilt top but I could get the exact measurements. Thanks so much :-)

quiltblue:  Seems to me that Jessica did that as well when her son was in bootcamp.  Good idea!
