Someone on here may want to go ahead and set up the "post" for the MeetNGreet. Just go to the calendar on the right of this page. Click on "Mar 31." Then you can "add event" on that date. Here is the info for the MeetNGreet:
Ramada Inn Waukegan PIR 4/1 MeetNGreet, Thurs, March 31st, 6-8 pm
200 North Green Bay Rd
Waukegan IL
phone: 847-244-2400
That way, people can RSVP on that post. Or....someone can set up a MeetNGreet discussion above and take RSVP's that way. Nice to know how many to expect from this group...and the Ramada likes a "heads up" from the N4M group as far as number if someone can call PIR week and give them just a ballpark figure. Not a requirement, but helps with their food planning for this group. But all are invited, whether they RSVPed or not!
skyler--thats is correct...its being held wether anyone attends or not. It is just a courtesy that the hotel offers for the familys visiting for the weekend. Also, you asked if it is a nice place. I thought it was pretty nice. here is alink to view pics. The M&G is held in the Saddle Ridge:
http://www.ramada.com/Ramada/control/Booking/property_info?property...
skyler--yes..the ramada holds a meet and greet every thursday night from 6-8 pm the evening before PIR. They have a lounge (restaurant right beside) area where they hold it. They have tables set up before you enter the lounge with name tags, markers, etc...It is for any one who wants to attend, wether they are on N4M's or not. BUT...this group is responsible for getting the word out and passing on the info to everyone on here.
They have very nice appetizers and each room (if staying there) receives two free drink coupons (Free appetizers, but cash bar).
Its nice to see everyone from N4M's, we made up our own nametags and were able to recognize everyone that way.
Okay, here is another "Military Funny"... I am sending to my son in his next card.
Who Is Going to Afghanistan First?
Boudreaux, the smoothest-talking Cajun in the Louisiana National Guard, got called up to active duty. Boudreaux's first assignment was in a military induction center.
Because he was a good talker, they assigned him the duty of advising new recruits about government benefits, especially the GI insurance to which they were entitled.
The officer in charge soon noticed that Boudreaux was getting a 99% sign-up rate for the more expensive supplemental form of GI insurance.
This was remarkable, because it cost these low-income recruits $30.00 per month for the higher coverage, compared to what the government was already providing at no charge. The officer decided he'd sit in the back of the room at the next briefing and observe Boudreaux's sales pitch.
Boudreaux stood up before the latest group of inductees and said, "If you has da normal GI insurance an' you goes to Afghanistan an' gets youself killed, da government pays you beneficiary $20,000. If you takes out da supplemental insurans, which cost you only t'irty dollars a mons, den da governmen' gots ta pay you beneficiary $200,000!"
"Now," Boudreaux concluded, "which bunch you tink dey gonna send ta Afghanistan first ?"
****************** (This is from a friend in Colorado)
I have asked my friends to come up with jokes to send, I print two copies of them (with jokes on both sides) so he can pass them around. I like the idea of a card shower... mine has his birthday on the 21st, so maybe I can do that! Cool Beans as a friend like to say!
