I received  my first phone call today around 4:30 pm , very short, but she's doing good and I felt her really excited....everything is ok her only complain was that "she didn't sleep to munch".

I spoke my recruit today! It was very short, but he missed the Friday time to call because he was sick and on "bed rest".  Therefore, no trips to the phone. He is trudging through so he won't be delayed. Apparently, so far,so good.  I was afraid maybe he had run into trouble and lost phone privileges, so I'm happy that's not the case. (Boy, can a mom's mind run wild with possibilities!!)  I have been writing at least one letter every day.  He said the most recent one he has was dated 2/23. So, it seems it takes a little while for mail to get to him. We have received 2 letters to date--one last Friday and one the previous Thursday.  He didn't mention if he wrote again, but a mom can always hope!  Oh, and he is very happy that there is only 30 days left!  Me, too!!!

janlee:  One recruit had told his mom that although they could write certain days, and eventually everyday possibly, they put the mail in a bucket or something and it is only mailed out on certain days.  So that might explain the same postmark on letters written at different times.

Oh ok. Well I will check on that.

quiltblue--They are able to write on Sundays and the letters usually get sent out mondays. The outgoing mail system in there is kinda goofy. My sons GF would receive a letter, and then the next day,,,she would receive another one, and all the while WE (his parents) didnt receive one until the next week...yet they were all postmarked on the same day!!. Also,,, my sister-in-law (SR's aunt) didnt receive ONE letter from him even though he claimed to had written her four of them. Im not sure if he had the address wrong, but when i checked his address book after PIR, it was correct (unless he wrote it wrong on the envelopes).

So hang in there...you may receive several letters at once..:))
