Got our call last night.  Our SR had a bad phone or something we could not hear him at all.  He first called on the cell phone and it was so quiet we could not hear him.  Then he called on the house phone and I had to really concentrate on what he was saying.  I will be sure to write him to not use that phone next time:)   Was so good to hear his voice and all of the kids were able to talk to him.  The 2 youngest couldn't hold back the tears but everyone else waited until they were done talking.  Sounds like he is doing fine.  Slept well.  And now we get letters again soon.  I am liking this.

Marmee & Texas SailorMom, I finished your ribbons today. I am thinking about going ahead and shipping them tomorrow. A little early but can you believe tomorrow you will only be 1 month until PIR :-)

I would have been happy to take my sailor to A-school, it would have been a long drive from GL to Pensacola but I would have done it just to have some more time with her :-)

JessicaB-thats what tolds told& its on multiple sites about the navy. There was nowhere there that stated we aren't allowed to transport our SR's to their A schopl, infact it is encouraging families to do that.

Hi to everyone and so glad to hear you are receiving calls. Isnt it fantastic??

Did they sound different? More mature and business like?....lol ...What a good feeling...now you can go to sleep with a smile on your faces tonight!!!!

Also...now that you are halfway there (yayyy) and i see a lot of you are going to start making your final traveling arrangements..i have added some very informative info above in the discussion forum. It is titled PIR FAQ, and i know its a little long, but it covers just about everything you may need to know all on one page. It shows the uniforms they will be wearing, etc...so check it out.:)))

Well if there A school is in Great Lakes they ate Grad&Go, BUT you get to transport them to that destination& spend that wknd with them. If their A school is out of state then I don't believe you get the wknd
