Since some of you are getting word that your SR's may be flying out..you may want to print out the G&G questionare above and send it to them. Tell them that when they get all their info...to fill out the form, keep it in their drawer, and give it to you after PIR ceremony. That way you will have all the info you need on one piece of paper to meet them at the airport. They may not know any info until a day or two before PIR so this is the best method. Because mail delivery stops about 7-10 dats before PIR and the only phone call you will receive is the "im a sailor" call, and they may still noy know anything yet...

And Soccermom---im not familiar with "family night"..i dont think we had any G&G's in my PIR groups so one of the other Moms will have to answer that one.:))

claysgirl---they are handed out jobs while they are in there. Window washing duty, laundry duty, bathroom (or 'head') duty, etc. This may be what he is referring to. My son was Petty Officer of the "head"...hahaha!. It was other recruits job to keep the bathroom clean and he had to make sure they were doing their job...if not,,he was the one who was reprimanded. This teaches them that one persons work affects other people. and that everyone needs to make sure they are doing what is expected. Its a pretty good system. This may be who quiltblues SR was referring to. There are recruits who are 'masters at arms' they  kind of 'police' the divisions, there are recruits in charge of marching (drills), they dont always want the responsibility, but that is their job while they are in there. The mailman is even a recruit, but everyone LOVES him...LOL And how well they perform does carry with them when they move on from BC.

You can ask your SR's what their job is...it keeps them busy..:))

I won't be able to attend any Meet & Greet because of my son having Thursday evening with us......Maybe we can meet before graduation ceremony starts on base for exchange of scarves....etc....I wanted to be able to meet everyone before then but now knowing we will have a few hours on Thursday with him....I won't have time:)

quiltblue.......My son mentioned the same thing.....That we would have Thursday night with him since he is Grad N Go but he didn't know if he was leaving Friday or Sat........or if it was chartered

Also 115 & 116 are Grad N Go... he doesn't know if they leave on Friday or Saturday. Doesn't know if it is a chartered flight either. He mentioned Family Night on Thursday.  I don't know where that is going to be held at... I haven't heard anything about a Family Night!  ANGELS, do you know about Family Night???
