We all just celebrated our Sailors Graduating today and most of us have really enjoyed our afternoon with them. I really don't want to give him back to RTC! My sailor will be learning how to be ET (Electronics Technician), originally he was going…Continue

Its a place for us to meet :) Has anyone else by chance found out if their loved one is in this Division by chance?!
Comment
Ugh NavyJane glad you got your letter but not news I was hoping for.. I have a bad feeling about DIV 115 since they're "brother divisions" with 116 and people say that normally the first 2 divisions are GnG.. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow and see what Clay says :( (BOOOO!)
They actually have a pic of the week every week that shows a group of current recruits doing different things. This week was a training with guns, someone posted that they thought it was div 108 but i'm not sure. Then today there was a pic of an RDC doing a rack inspection
http://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommandAlso---youre right...they dont have as much info as ours. And its not as 'chatty' ...lol
If you see anyone on there that may seem lost and asking questions...dont be afraid to steer them to this website. A lot of moms/wives, etc..dont know about this site and are so happy to have someone tell them about it..:))
quiltblue--YES!! there are photos posted there. Most of the newer photos are from that weekends PIR. I dont think there is a 900 division in this group...but there are usually photos of them performing at the graduations. Im not on FB too much, i just started on there (too keep in touch with my sailor) so im just learning about it. But i kow that once in a while, they will post pics of the recruits when they have a special visitor (Commanders, etc..), and you can search the backgrounds to see if you can spot a familiar face. They will also post pics of uniform fittings, and PT time, so...you never know. I never spotted my son in any photos (blahhh!). i was even starting to wonder if he was still in there...lol The best thing to do is...if you notice they have updated their pics, drag the link over here so all the moms can get out their magnifying glasses to look for their SR's. It is such a good feeling when you are able to SEE them!!!
Also. if you click on the photos..they will enlarge and its really easy to search for them...:)))
claysgirl---what was always considered a G&G is a recruit that graduates and then leaves shortly after. The RTC is now saying that they have changed that policy and the only recruits that leave shortly after are the ones that 'move' across the base to Aschool (GL's). BUT...there are still recruits that leave the next day, and they call them 'saturday departures'...but we one here still refer to them as Grad and Go's....does that make sense??...lol
SO...if you recruit says he is a G&G...he is probably just moving across the base the Aschool and you will still get to see them all weekend (possibly even overnight)...if your recruit says he is a 'Saturday departure'..then you will most likely only get to see them for a short while and then again at the airport.
We on N4Ms still call "saturday departures" Grad and Go's...and a lot of the recruiters still refer to them that way also.
The best thing to do is...when you speak to your recruits, ask them WHERE they are going to Aschool and WHEN they have to fly out.
