Clay'sGirl:  This is an ongoing dispute with RTC and us here!  Because the RDCs still tell the SRs that they are GradNGo when they are flying out.  Just wait and see!  So on here, we refer to GradNGos as those either moving right over to GL, or those leaving RTC by early Sat. morning.

Hey ladies and gents... Just an interesting (although not really important detail) I just saw on the Navy R.T.C. Facebook page where they responded to a question about Grad n Go and did you know that the only "Grad n Go's" according to the Navy are those who leave for A-School in Great Lakes? All others are considered "Saturday Departures".. I just thought it interesting.. lol This is what he said :

Only recruits who are staying in Great Lakes and checking into their A School the same day as graduation are referred to as Grad & Go. Recruits departing RTC on Saturday are called Saturday departures.

If your recruit is flying on a commercial flight, you will be able to see her at the airport. If she is flying a charted flight, you will not be able to see her off. Only recruits may give out their flight information.

Well Gang....It's an exciting day for all of us for two reasons!  1 - We are all one day closer to getting a letter from our SR's!   And 2 - It's currently 35 degrees in Great lakes and we have 35 days till our Sr's PIR!  Things are looking up...we are almost at the HALFWAY POINT!!!

That's true, start school in the spring and end in the summer. What's the weather like in the summer, hot and humid?

A-school for Hospital Corpsman is in Greta Lakes and has 96 days of classes. At least winter is almost over and it won't be too bad as far as the weather is concerned :-)

Yes, quiltblue:  If you meet your SR at the airport, you can give him personal items in a black backpack.  These can include phone, laptop, some civilian clothes (they can wear these once phased up in A School).  No personal items can be taken back on RTC base.

Thanks! I hope we get a positive answer!
