We all just celebrated our Sailors Graduating today and most of us have really enjoyed our afternoon with them. I really don't want to give him back to RTC! My sailor will be learning how to be ET (Electronics Technician), originally he was going…Continue

Its a place for us to meet :) Has anyone else by chance found out if their loved one is in this Division by chance?!

I think those who are grad & go and have A-school in Great Lakes are the lucky ones.
If you know what rate (job) you recruit will be going to A-school for you can google it or ask on here and find out where A-school will be. For example: The job/rate called AO (Aviation Ordnanceman) goes to Pensacola for A-school as does IT.
Thank you!
Just a heads-up about Grad and GO. The RTC will tell you that only those staying in Great Lakes and moving to the new base on Friday are considered Grad & Go. Those leaving on Saturday are Saturday departures. However, The RDC's still refer to Grad and go as those going across the street and also those leaving on Saturday for other locations. If your recruit says they are Grad & Go it is good to know where their A-school is. My sailor called in tears saying her RDC told them their division was Grad & Go. Not all of them were staying in Great Lakes in fact most of them were headed other places and many went to Pensacola.
They do have chartered flights but not very often. My sailor was on a chartered flight to Pensacola with 150 sailors. She didn't know it was a chartered flight until the day before PIR and none of us, including her, knew we couldn't meet her at the airport. We along with lots of other parents waited in the airport and left in tears. I have been on this site with every PIR group since then (July) and I have not seen another chartered flight. So hopefully you will not see it either.
quiltblue- I asked your G&G question on the navy recruit FB page

I'll let you know what they say : )
Moms---if your SR is going to be in Great Lakes for Aschool...there is a storage area not far from the base that you can take their items and store them for them. It is called Lock and Go...but these lockers are only for the GL Aschoolers..if your SR is boarding a plane for Aschool..this is NOT for them..here is link:
