Yes, very possible.  But wait to see what he says!

diannep... if we start with 115, and 116 (my son's)... does that mean that he could be G&G? He is set to go to A school in Charleston for Nukes.

My son is Ship11 Div116. I'm hoping this is phone call week. They should be starting their 4th week. Unbelievable!!! I miss him so badly but I'm so thankful he hasn't been hurt or sent home because I know this is his goal for his family. I have read and wathced everything I can find about what they may be doing this week, and everything indicates that things get a little better for them. That makes me feel better and maybe my family won't have me committed after all. HAAA!

I LOVE the thought of my son actually folding his clothes and redoing anything I do... all three of my kids had to learn to fold clothes - my way - growing up. It is very seldom that they do anything other than tossing things into their dressers. Well, at least what I learned from my Army AirCorp/AirForce Dad, might be revived in my sailor.

quiltblue:  They say that usually the first 2 divisions of the PIR group are GradNGo.  My son's and his brother divisions were (first 2 divisions), but not sure this is always true and always whole divisions.  We have never been able to figure that out!  Everyone just has to wait until you hear it from your SR.

quiltblue:  Ok, when packing a bag for him, make sure you fold it all "Navy style "or he will do it all over again!  HA!  One of my most treasured memories in the hotel after PIR is watching my sailor fold (he didn't know I was watching) his tshirt JUST PERFECTLY....I started to laugh (where he couldn't hear, of course!).  I have read stories on here of sailors straightening all of the towels in the hotel bathroom, and one even straightened his mom's pjs!  So get ready for some CHANGES!  :-)

Ok, in reference to the "cold weather" talk here.  We are S. Floridians.  My son has had enough cold...between GL, then MS (was warming up when he finished A School), and now VA.  He told me that he definitely appreciates S. FL now.  Of course, it would have helped if he would have DRESSED for the cold.  We S. Floridians only know about flip flops and shorts....  :-)

Tomorrow is Wednesday... so we should be getting mail! It might be Thursday, because of the holiday, but I am betting on Weds.

I need to go through his stuff and pack a bag for him. PJs to wear while we are in the room (we are staying at the Navy Lodge), his laptop, his cell phone, his kindle, his shampoo, etc.. Someone on another group/forum said to take him/her new underwear... the USN doesn't give the greatest. Briefs for guys, I wonder what kind the gals can have? Let them decide if they want to be tourists or just hang for some of the time. My SR won't make any decisions, so I think we will rest the first day. Maybe venture out on Saturday. Most Nuke bound probably won't be G&G, but since our ship is so small... and they say the first two divs are usually G&G. "Angels - janlee, lala, jessicaB - any info about that for our ship/PIR?

wow---2 weeks of winter? How nice... my son is hoping to do well in Aschool so he gets his pick of where to be stationed...all because he wants somewhere warm. We live in PA and hes sick of the cold...and i dont blame him.

I wonder how your BF is adjusting to the cold weather? We had PIR over the worst snow storm EVER a couple of weeks ago and there was a lot of people having trouble driving their rental cars because they werent used to driving in snow....lol I hope you guys have better weather..:))
