Its a place for us to meet :) Has anyone else by chance found out if their loved one is in this Division by chance?!

mysailor---NO...there is no particular day. The recruits go to NEX for supplies and are allowed to use the phones when there. The only indication you may have of a call is if your SR has mentioned in his/her letter about going to NEX or about calls for a certain day. . The only 'for sure' call is the one when they pass BS21. Usually..when divisions are making calls, moms will quickly post on here that they have received a call...then you know to wait by your phone. The divisions are divided into 'brother' divisions...these brother divisions train together, go thru BS21 together, and usually get to make their calls at the same time. Sometimes you will see posts on here about divisions getting calls,,and your call might not come. That may mean that only two divisions got to call that particular day (due to time restrictions) and you will probably be receiving a call from your SR's division the next day. Thats usually how it works,,but this is Navy BC and sometimes things happen. (short of time, calls revoked due to behavior/tests, etc)
My sons division was 061 and his 'brother' division was 062, so they usually did everything at the same time (write , train, call home, etc...) so it may help to know what division your SR is brothered with.
lala---my sons calls home were divided in half. He would call us first and say.."i only have 30 minutes to talk because i have to call .. (his GF)"...i didnt mind, as long as he was calling someone!!
We dont even have a house phone anymore,,but we would put our cell on 'speaker' when he called.
Get a temporary cell phone! That's what one girlfriend did! That way her life was still able to function, but that CELL was only for his calls! If you are only using that for his calls, you won't spend much and it could last the entire 8 weeks! My son doesn't have a gf, so I know all his calls will be home, unless he calls his friends. But I doubt that he would do that, since the average is only 3 or 4 calls the entire 8 weeks!
janlee... love the cartoon! I do love it when he calls on the home phone because we all can grab an extension!
betsy--really...theres nothing worse than missing thier call. We wait and wait,,then miss it I never missed a call from BC (thank God) but i have missed a call from Aschool. He was using a friends phone and i didnt recognize the area code so didnt answer. He left a voicemail and,,,ohhhhh the guilt i felt was horrible.!! I called the number back and the friend was able to put my son on the phone....i learned my lesson.
claysgirl--remember what betsy said about texting..maybe give your friends a heads up as to why your not responding....after you receive that call from your recruit...then you can chat away; :))
claysgirl--my sons GF was just like you...lol Her friends would ask why shes not reponding to their texts or answering calls and she told them she doesnt want to tie up the phone.:)) She also told her boss and other employees that if her phone rings when shes not near it...that they are to answer it. They were all understanding and gave her a 'pass' on having her phone at work. She did get upset once in a while because her friends didnt really understand what she was going thru. No one does, unless they are going thru it. She made so many friends on FB Navy site for GF's, because they were the only ones that understood....
And YES!! i slept with my phone all the time...hahahha!
