Clay'sGirl.... send an email to those in your division and ask about the color they want. Let's say we choose by March 1st. That would still give us all enough time to buy (or make) the scarves.  I think this is wonderful!  I'll send email to my group as well.

Also just a heads up I've proposed yellow for division 115 but before we "claim" it I'd like to see what some of the other women think :) whooo hoo! lol

It looks like 7 divisions will be graduating at this PIR. SO I vote that we give it at least through the rest of the day. I think it would be logistically a nightmare to try to get every single person whos in every single division to vote (because not everyone gets on every day- some people just check in once a week) so lets just try to get a majority (or a good number) of people in each division to pick :) SO EXCITED guys!

We all get to vote! We need to know how many divisions are in our PIR group. Many of those in the discussions groups, are NOT 4/01/11 PIR.

So, I'm a little confused!  All of ship 11 is going to be the same color?  I was thinking divisions were having their own color.

Okie doke then lets do colors... :) lets still give it a day so we can have each division pick a color.. I am so stinkin excited lol
Comment by quiltblue on February 19, 2011 at 3:52pm
Maybe at the Meet & Greet we can do all the same color and I would be willing to make all the scarves for my div 116 to give to the N4M Mom of our own color. Just a thought... we are still a very small group.

If we buy an 1/8 of a yard of fabric from a Joann's we could even post the color, sample etc.  Since a yard of fabric is under $8, that would be very cheap. It wouldn't have to be sewn (unless you wanted to).  Maybe, do Spongebob fabrics or a gorgeous gold?  I don't know if we all want to do the same color or if we want different for each division.  I have started a spreadsheet of those of us in each division for PIR 4/01/11.  Still compiling names.  Be sure to add your ship/div after your profile name (it helps us find each other faster), and since we know what groups are in our PIR date....  Please watch for others on different group pages and direct them to our PIR group if they are "ours"... HooYah Keersarge!

My only worry about the colors is our sailors are going to be standing infront of their loved ones from what I understand. (You sit according to the divison) so your already seperated that way. So wouldnt you need something to set you apart from the rest of the division?? Im not sure i've never been so i have no idea what to do lol. I thought the embelishments and scarves would be more for us and we could set something up with our sailors so they know where we are.. this is good though lets keep discussing it :)
Comment by NavyJane 11/116 on February 19, 2011 at 3:29pm
I think the different divisions should do different colors so it will be easy to spot each other and have our sailors spot us easily in the crowd.  Embellishments are a cool idea, but like soccermom said, a little hard to see from afar.  Just my humble opinion!  :)
