Residence Inn Waukegan is great....full kitchens, gas fireplace, PIR shuttle, free hot breakfast buffet, separate bedrooms (we had a 2 bedroom 2 bath), pullout sofa in living area, pet friendly, quiet area.  I highly recommend it!

FINALLY!!!!  We finally received his form letter.   Tomorrow will be 2 weeks for him.  His note on the form letter actually sounded upbeat.  Said that, yes, there was allot of yelling just like Full Metal Jacket. But he was doing fine and more letters were to follow.  He also stated that he is leader of 89 recruits! Oh my.  Maybe my son is leading your son or daughter.  Don't worry...he is a good guy.  Just so happy! But...his PIR is not 4/1 like we assumed.  It is 4/8.  So I should probably find the group  for that PIR.  It was great chatting with all of you and learning soooo much.  Hang in there moms.  Love to all!!!

I got a letter too!! He said that they start getting their mail on Monday so I guess they'll be getting our letters then.. He was like I hope I get one from you- (Umm I've sent him like 6! haha He said its pretty much what he expected and that he's doing okay with the PT which is a relief since I know he was worried and was exercising like crazy before he left- what a relief to know he's doing alright!!

Oh!! Quick question! Does anyone in this discussion have a SR who is originally from Michigan (I think) and shipped out from MIA (Miami)? My fiancee met up with another SR at the airport and I was trying to find his girlfriend and talk to her! My fiancee, Tyler, had obviously made really good friends with this recruit because he would barely listen to me and kept laughing and having a great time with his new friend! Just wanted to see if I could find that SR's family!

(I think the SR's, my fiancee met at MIA, girlfriends name was Liz!)

So glad to hear some of you got letters! Love hearing bits and pieces of what's going on in BC! Clay'sgirl- I feel your pain! I am dying for a letter!  But nothing ever comes from him..yet! I just keep think tomorrow will be the day! Ha! :) And every time I see the mailman getting closer and closer I cross my fingers and hope for a letter! Like if there wasn't a letter in the stack of mail 2 minutes ago there will be something from my fiancee now! LOL I'm going CRAZY!! I need a letter! Some form of communication from him so I know he's still alive and at least making it through each day okay!
