The sooner the better...that way she will have your paper and envelopes when she is able to write back...and she wont have to purchase any..
My sons first letter he sent to me was sent on BC stationary and BC envelope...and i could tell by what he had written that they hadnt given him any of the mail we sent. But a few days later...i received another letter inside of a self addressed stamped envelope i sent him ...and he made reference to my letters, so i knew they finally gave him his mail.
Yes...just send sheets of paper in an envelope. Dont over stuff it,,,,any 'puffy' envelopes will be made to open in front of RDC'a. Nothing will happen...its only paper..but just so shes not made to feel uncomfortable or scared...you know what i mean? They dont want to be single out for any reason...lol
You can send as many envelopes as you wish with paper in them....if you dont mind having to use so many stamps...haha
I sent my son 4 envelopes a day sometimes. Some had a letter in, some had a questionare in. sometimes i just remembered something i forgot to put in the one letter...so i wrote him another one and sent them all.
It doesnt matter how many you send or when you send them...they will give them to her when they are ready.
You can send her paper and envelopes...a notebook might be a little too big.
They probably sent it home because she cant have anything for the first few weeks except what they let them purchase from NEx (toothpaste, shampoo, etc...) When they are allowed to start receiving their mail (about 3 weeks in),,thats when they let them have the paper, envelopes, stamps, etc...they are allowed to purchase those items and receive those items.
Everyone,..... thanks for the kind words about the PIR. We live down here, in Florida and are trying to get prices for the hotel, food, gas, and anything else we might need. The only way we MIGHT be able to do this, is not pay our rent. See, we have a son, who is 3 years older than his sister, who is in BC, and he is in the Marine Corps. When he graduated in 2006, we were given $300 to help us with expenses.
We drove up to Paris Island, SC and stayed 2 nights. The thought of NOT seeing my daughter graduate and see her smiling face after almost 11 weeks, is heartbreaking. I keep saying a prayer everyday, that somehow, my family can drive from Florida to Illinois, to see our giggling, sweet, happy, young woman.
Now my son, is currently stationed at Camp Lejune, NC for a special class. We were going to pick him up on the way to GL. We wait to see what happens. So my daughter may need to be adopted by another family. I have not told her yet that we might not be coming up there. Only time will tell.
