Lala.......I appreciate you & all of the veteran moms......It's like learning a new language & a new way of life....It would be incredible difficult to muddle through all of this without your help.. .........I look forward to visiting with the group & deciding on the ribbons to take & a possible color / article of clothing to wear for our PIR.

I am so happy to see you are beginning to get more members and that you are starting to get the form letters. Just know that we care about you, we know how hard this is because we have done it at least once. The first 2 weeks are the hardest and I promise it does get better. You will find this page a great place to vent when you are feeling down, discouraged, sad, mad, happy, dancing, or crying. No matter what emotions you are feeling you can express them here without ridicule. We understand like no one else will. There is no such thing as a dumb question so if there is something you don't understand or want to know just ask. There are several of here who check each one of the PIR groups several times a day and we are happy to help. If you prefer you can also send a private message or send us a comment or friend request. Welcome!!!

Thanks janlee... my son's name is important and I will use it in private messages, thanks. I want all our sailors to be safe so I won't use his name any more. My husband has our sons name in his on screen name, so he will have to change that. I have seen several people use the SR's name that way, I wonder why that hasn't been tagged by someone.

quiltblue---You should refer to your child as son/daughter/ or SR. Especially when joining a specific division group. But..like jessica said, you can use their names all you want when sending someone a PM (private message) thru your inbox (upper right hand of screen). And you will find it VERY refreshing to be able to use their names in there. It seems so much more personal.:))) The first time i used my sons name...i typed it over and over again in capital letters as if i was shouting it from the rooftops...lol...weird i know

Moms--as you are receiving your form letters and learning your SR's ship/division...you can start a discussion group above ( i see there have already been some started) where you can talk with moms strictly from your division. Before starting one...click the 'view all' button and check out if one hasnt been started yet....

soccermom--nice job on the countdown clock and weather widget. I started mine at 54 days and us moms decided that if we track time in 10-day increments...it would go faster...lol ( anything to pass the time)  Only 48 more days!!!!

I want to again welcome all the members of this group. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you & hopefully we"ll get to meet you & your families at PIR (graduation). I'm a newbie to N4M's so I am learning about every step of this process with the aid of the veteran moms that monitor this site. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. There will always be a veteran mom here to help...My son left for bc 8 days ago. I don't know what I would have done without the support of this forum.

Anyway before you know it we'll be making plans to travel to GL for PIR on 04/01/11.................................God bless each of you & your SR's

Yes, JessicaB-Sailor Mom... I did get your welcome messages! Thank you, I am still learning how to navigate these crazy groups/pages/etc. Hopefully, now that we know the PIR is 4/1/11 and his ship/div... we can regroup and make "friends".  Can we say our child's first name on here? I know not to use his last name.

I'm so exicited........our sons are in the same ship/div.....ship 11 /div 116

Hurray! Got my letter... he is in ship 11 / div 116... anyone else out there?????? Grad day is 4/1/11!  Seems like a perfect day for my boy to graduate (April Fools Day). He will get a kick out of having that as his anniversary memory!  He said that it has been a difficult 10 days so far, and to expect more letters!  That is so funny to see him write that, he has never been much for writing, talking, or emails. Guess he will learn! <3
