proud---haha..youre right...they all look the same. Take a small pair of binoculars with you. My older son was the one that spotted our Sailor first.

Hes 6'3", so he wasnt too hard to spot. I think they put the taller ones in the back row...maybe that will help you find yours.

I can just feel the excitement in this group...!! Cant wait till the calls come in. Then you know your Sailor is DONE with this part of their journey and they will be able to kick back and relax while waiting for the others to go thru...GOOD LUCK LADIES!!!!!

I feel exactly the same way!  every time I even think about the PIR it brings tears of pride to my eyes!!  I wonder, though.... will we be able to pick out our child if they are not one of the ones in the front??  will they all look the same in their uniforms and hats that we will not be able to find them????  Ugh...  hopefully I will remember to ask her where she is going to be standing... that should help!  Man... if she just hadn't gotten fired from being a stick!!   :-)

I can't remember which one.....whether it was Janlee or Dianep that mentioned that their feet didn't touch the ground the entire time at PIR......but that's exactly what I feel..... every time I even think about the PIR ceremony & as the door begin to lift up & in marches our Sailors:))))))))  I'm pretty sure my husbands going to have to keep me from floating up to the ceiling with pride:)))))) Wow!!

Still waiting on the "I'm a Sailor call"...............

Oh My Gosh!!!  As if we weren't all already emotional enough right now!!

So.. here I am at Big Lots...  dying to find out if anyone has heard from their SR about Battlestations, so I pull it up on my cell phone..  Marmee...  I was SO glad to hear that your son passed (although we all knew that he would!)  But... reading that, along with the fact that all our SR's passed...  emotions we not contained!!

Then... on the drive home from Big Lots...  again, couldn't wait... pulled up email agian to see if anyone had talked to their SR while sitting at a stop sign...  there I sit reading your story, Janlee....  tears just flowing down my face!!  WOW !!  I can not begin to describe the pride I feel in our kids, husbands, neices, nephews... whatever the case may be!!  The great thing is... I know that each and every one of you understands EXACTLY what I am feeling!!

Please... don't let any of us forget our kleenex next Friday!

Mrs S---thank you. As dianne was saying..be prepared for the attention your sailor will receive. Im sure you all will have so many stories like this to tell. I am just getting started, and i have already experienced these things. The word PROUD..isnt even big enough...we need a bigger word...LOL!!!

dianne--- he called me right away from the airport and told me this. I pulled over in a parking lot and was listening and crying. I even looked the man up on line when i got home (his name is on the coin). YES... I think my son is seeing a whole other side of humanity...which is a good thing!! He has so much pride in himself now, plus carries respect and a 'brotherhood' for/with so many others. I love that he is experiencing all this.
