Lala:  There is someone looking for Navy Lodge info on the 4/8 site right now.  Cheryl.  Didn't you stay there?  I referred her to you.

And the Navy Lodge does not charge tax so keep that in mind as well/

Conster- you might also try hotwire for hotel reservations. You can get  a room through them at one of the major chains for under $50 a night. The Navy Lodge on base is also only 65 a night.

Thank you for the information. When is Battlestations for Ship 11, Div 116?
Comment by diannep on March 15, 2011 at 7:59am
quiltblue:  Yes, failure rate for BattleStations is about 3-10 SRs per 150-300 going through each time.  And if they fail, they go through again on another night and will pass.

Conster:  Again, prayers continue for you and your family.

You may want to contact "Sarge" 847-212-0246 to arrange transporation around GL and from the airport if you decide not to rent a car.  He has received rave reviews from those who have gone before you and is very kind to the Navy families.  Make sure when contacting the hotel that you ask for the PIR rate...or AAA if you have that.  Ramada is pretty affordable and that is where the MeetNGreet will be held the night before PIR, so you may want to try and stay there.  Their shuttle to PIR is also free (the others charge $3/pp each way, sailor returning with you for free).  Although PIR is very special to everyone, I know you and your son attending would be would be extra special after all you have been through.

Good Morning Everyone.....Again, please forgive me for not being here everyday, as my daughter WAS able to come home, for her Father's funeral last week. She got a total of 5 days. My son, the Marine, is leaving tomorrow. Plus, since my husband's passing, it has been non-stop with phone calls, and visitors. Slowly, my son and I are trying to get back on track with our lives.

So, a question for the group.....my brother is able to pay for me and my son, to fly out to Great Lakes, for her PIR, but what time is it? I also am trying to figure out details for car rental and hotel costs. Can anyone, please help me with this information, so I can deterine if we will be able to see our SR graduate. Since my husband passed away, the only income I am receiving now, is my SSDI. My husband did NOT have any life insurnace. I will do whatever I have to do, to go see my daughter. I welcome any and all suggestions.

Thank you.
