FYI (if you are interested)  We have a total of 70 (that I have found) members/profiles names for our PIR group!  I don't have any recent updates from Spec Ops, so they might have grown since my last check.  115=8, 116=14. 117=6, 118=13, 119=7, 120=9, and 806=13!  If your list doesn't match mine, let me know so I can add or you can add names!  HooYah!

Thank you for info on Corps school.  Our son is on Div 118 and  we are praying he stays in GL.  Looking forward to trips up there to see him once in a while.  Hoping they don' t change it.  Really counting the days to see our SR.

@Proudmom -- Thanks for the info about corps school, it's very helpful!  My husband is also in Div 116 -- did your recruit say the whole division was getting phone calls?

No I read on one group that her son was supposed to be guarding the rail or something that had him up in the bleachers and she said they talked for like 30 min, and someone else said when she was at a PIR a mom saw her son before hand and ran over to hug him and he started screaming at her to stop. Just random tidbits ive read on here from time to time. And that was the only info ive officially read about family night was when someone asked him a while back and he completely shut down the idea. Thats very upsetting to me that theyd tell SRs something like that for 'motivation' sorry if I get short when its brought up but thars just very wrong I think. 18 more days ladies!!! Eek! Remember when we had 40 something??? Lol

Clay'sGirl:  How did moms see/talk to their sailors before PIR?  Do you mean...if they saw them lined up outside to go into the PIR hall, or in the bathroom area?  I know that families have run into their sailors sometimes then.  The Family Night thing was something that happened years ago, from what I have been told.  It no longer happens and sailors cannot see family until PIR, from our info.  But in one of the PIR groups on here, one division's SRs were being told that they would have a Family Night the night before PIR and get to see their families then...I think this was said as a motivation for them because I don't believe it happened.  There were many disappointed families when they realized this was just a motivational tool and it wasn't going to happen.

On the RTC facebook page he addressed the Family Night topic and said he didnt know anything about it and it def would not be happening . Even if you happen to see them walking around before hand your not supposed to talk to them technically until after they PIR (although ive heard from some moms that talked to theirs and didnt get in trouble. I know all this has been posted before but I thought id repost for anyone who misssed the first round. Especially since its soooo close-eeeek!!

Just had a surprise call from my SR, and she gave me a little info to pass on.

For those with PIR date of April 1,  Hospital Corpman will be staying in Great Lakes, but will not begin A school until April 11, and will last for 108 days.  They still don't know about a family night Thursday.  They will stay and clean while waiting to start school.  Liberty possible a couple weekends, but she didn't know if they would actually be able to go home during those weekends.  My thought is .. probably not!
