AnthonysProudMom:  When you say Marriott, do you mean the Residence Inn?

I hope that you will go to your PIR MeetNGreet at the Ramada.  It is put on by the Ramada for every PIR group, 6-8 pm...and includes all families with sailors PIRing the next day (not just NavyforMom families).  It is a great time to meet others and spread the word of N4Ms to families who have no idea that this site exists!  We stayed at Residence...loved it.  Great hotel...and pet friendly for those driving wishing to bring pets to reunite with their sailors!

Residence has the PIR shuttle ($3/pp each way and you reserve it when you check in)---shuttles are actually just taxis that they line up--- the hotel has free hot buffet breakfast in the lobby each morning, they are located in a quiet area by an office park, close to the Walmart shopping center where the Springhill Suites and Courtyard (both Marriotts) are located, along with some restaurants.  We had a 2-bedroom  2-bath and really enjoyed that...full kitchens.  Be sure to check out the AAA rate if you have that, in addition to the PIR rate.

Mamamary-Waukegan is only about 4 miles from the base. I made reservations at the Marriott there for PIR.  They have discounts for Navy and apparently the night before PIR they have a meet and greet so it sounds kind of fun.

I have my car reservations and hotel reservations for 4/15, hoping that's my PIR date.  I think I'm the only one that hasn't received their form letter yet.  His dad hasn't gotten it either. I'm hoping for 4/15, but not too sure. ugghhh

Anthonys proud mom-i wasn't sure how far it was, thanks. Is it further away then Waukegan or is the town before Waukegan? Thinking of staying there, a friend works for Marriott & can get a better deal there then in Waukegan. I just don't want to be to far away from the base.
