Ahhhh, just got home. My sailor is settled in Meridian, have received several calls from him already...just like he was at home...every time he got somewhere he would call and that is what he is doing now!!  Funny. I am txting him just because I can. I feel so humbled and grateful. I also have a new charity: USO. Holy cow, they were awesome, and a new favorite city: Chicago. After our sailor left yesterday my  husband and I went into Chicago and had just the best time ever. So beautiful.

Good morning ladies, my daughter is on her final leg to A school. Otto was a great time spent with her this weekend. On the way home we were delays 2 1/2 hours on the tarmac due to the weather. I did not get home till 3:30 this morning. I did not have a problem with that, I was still on the PIR high. LOL. Spoke to her this morning and I am still on that high with the Kool-aide smile. Thanks ladies for all your support

Now that he is off to A school, I wanted to share a vid I made when my son swore in. The 2 guys in the pics with him are my dad (former Marine) and husband (former Navy), then the people he hugs at the end are his 4 siblings (my stepdaughter, 2 sons and my daughter)

Just dropped my son back off at RTC. Despite the ups and downs, getting to see him was THE reason we were here! While he stood watch we went over to Gurnee Mills and caught the movie Arthur. We'll head out to Midway Airport around 2 this morning to spend time with him before his flight to Pensacola at 6 am. We fly back to VA tomorrow afternoon. Glad everyone has enjoyed their time...and Candy-Oh I'm so happy for you!

If you can't find you son mamamary find the USO place at the airport.  They were so helpful to us at O'Hare.  My son left at 6:15 this a.m. for Virginia.  We already received a call.  Some of the guys were at the NEX having a good old time.  They have freedom to do what they want.  Phones, computers, walking around, etc.  He even said that the beds are much better than bootcamp.  So I would say that life is good for them now.

Humble - That is awesome, you are engaged!  Congratulations!

I flew in at midway.  It is south of Ohare.  Take 294 s to Indiana and then exit 55 north to chicago and the exit to Cicero ave and turn right then turn left on 55th street and it brings you to the airport

Hope that helps
