Awwww my bf is 21 so I guess they haven't met yet. But he's gonna love meridian, the only things my bf hates is that there isn't much to do off base and the watches.

Candy, Congrats to your sailor, so glad to hear the news!  I thought I saw you at the photo place on Friday, now I wish I would have walked over and said hello!  My son Doug is also at Meridian - he is studying to be a logistics specialist.  What is your sailor's assignment?  Take care and congrats!  Kim

Hi Candy!  I was wondering how your son is doing and if you have heard from him.  I hope he is doing well..  Doug failed his final PRT with his division and was put with a FIT division, where they ran them to death, but he did finally pass.  I hope you receive good news soon.  Please keep us posted.  My prayers are with you and your son.

Wow special Ed!  Thats awesome, good for you!  I hope you find a French job soon, though.  I totally agree with you when you said all that is taught is Spanish!! Its actually really hard to find a school that teaches French!  I really wish I would have learned in high school but mine only offered Spanish.  In my hometown, there are 2 smaller colleges, and neither one offers French!!  That's crazy!!  Where do you live?  That's great your son likes languages...some people definitely have a gift for it!  That is such an asset to have more than one language under your belt!

That's great that you are a French teacher!  How long have you been teaching?  And is your son going to specialize in languages in the Navy?  It seems bilingual and trilingual people are always especially useful in the armed forces!  Very cool!

Thanks so much, candy.  It is nice to know someone is in the area close to him! Thanks for the offer!  He is connected to the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

I've got to remember to check the bottom of my page for messages!  I posted on the bulletin board before I saw this.  I can't believe your son's recruiter didn't tell him you could go.  I'm glad your son was in the video too!
