Happy for you ShortBecky!, but I am still waiting with the other moms, basically tied to the mailbox and forcing myself out today into the sunshine to get it off my mind.

I am still waiting for my mail carrier. I sure hope I have a letter today.

Finally got my first real letter today. My sons friend who is in his same division letters were delivered Thursday. When I didn't get one Thursday or Friday I was really bummed. But one came today. There were black marks on it by the return address and along the bottom of the envelope. I don't know if it was misdelivered or what but I don't care I finally got it.

Carolyn! Awsome to here about your letter...I am just unpatiently waiting. But the part I had to laugh about is I am big on eye contact...But I remember bootcamp like it was yesterday..and I told my daughter..when they are yelling or even talking to you..focus on thier forehead....never in there eyes! Two reason...they dont like to be eyeballed and two...it easier not to take it personal when you are not looking at them..
Ok tomorrow the mail runs..so Keeping my fingers crossed!

I couldn't be more proud of my son, but it would be so nice to hear from him. I really just need to know that he is okay. I went through Marine boot camp with my oldest son, now Navy with the youngest. I know we will all survive, but a letter would sure be comforting.

Carolyn... thanks for sharing your letter! I am waiting for my son to write, I know it will be soon. You are right, we are very proud of our children :)

Yes we do Peggy!!
Well I needed to do something with my time so I made my reservation @ the Ramada. Lucky they had a large room with three queens and we are taking our 15 yr old and my daughters (in bootcamps) boyfriend. He leave less than a month after her graduation for bootcamp. THey will be right across the road from each other and still not see each other.

But I am so glad I got on this site. Meeting others going through the same thing is helpful. 42 days till Graduation!!

Hi ER Nurse, I understand how you feel entirely. I felt the panic when my son called me for the last time on the 18th and I have not heard from him since, by phone or letter YET ... that is taking a positive attutude, but I fight off tears too. I am sure if he was standing in front of me he would either roll his eyes or pat the top of my head! I bet they are not thinking we are worried. I am trying to think about all the times I wanted to "tan his hide" and now someone is doing it for me. I just want to hear those two words too.... I'm okay. Like I said, we deserve a medal for patience, endurance and strength too!!

I was super excited last night...couldnt sleep. As soon as I heard letters were arriving and just knew I would get one today...I have been ususally a day behind on boxes and info letter. So when todays mail came and no letter, I feel apart.
I know when my nephew graduated in Nov. We got a call before a letter even came...But not so good at this waiting game.
The no word for me is the worse...If I just got something saying Im ok mom...When she left crying I started to panic...is she doing this for me or for her...for my sanity I hope a letter comes soon.

So you other moms going crazy!!! I UNDERSTAND!
Comment by Peggy G on March 5, 2010 at 6:35pm
I did not get one either girls. I am thinking either he does not have the address memorized (due to recent move) or he is just too pooped to move the pen to the paper.... HA! Moms should be getting some kind of MEDAL!
