Lonna---also, if you go above to the discussion forum,...click 'view all' , you will see some good info in there. I think its the 3rd page in, you will see a title called "PIR FAQ", click and read...it contains a lot of info/rules for graduation...:)) Feel free to post any questions on the main board here and someone will answer them..:))

lonna--welcome..and please stay with us. This site is a big help. Congrats on your first letter. Once the contact starts, it goes a little quicker. The complete, abrupt cut off of any contact is the hardest, i know. Once they graduate and move on to Aschool, it gets easier, then its just like they are in college and you can talk to them whenever you want.

My daughter is Ship 03 DIV 147.  I received my first letter last night.  She sounded good!  Just tough not being able to talk to her or text her everyday!  I am new to this site/forum, etc...so I am still learning what all this is about! :)

Got a letter from my daughter Ship 3 Div 146 today.  She said something about being a gradngo or saturday departure.  Didn't have a lot of details.  I read earlier today that it's usually a whold division.  Does anyone else in Div 146 have any more information.  Also, where is your SR going to A school?  One other thing for Div 146 what color scarves are we going to wear to PIR?  Does everyone want to do something like that?

bn4gvn--hahaha! at least we know they are getting their teeth taken care of.  My son had a toothache right before he went to BC, and our dentist told him that HE will take care of the infection for him, and let the Navy take care of the rest...he said they have excellent dentist in the Navy. Its something they take seriously, especially if they are going to be on a Sub (pressure maybe??)

Got my letter today! 2 of them actually! He did have all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last week....ouch! Know EXACTLY how he feels...

Jenacfs:  The older ones "get it."  My son is midway between the younger ones/older ones in age.  So he kind of understood the need for the yelling too. But we had a friend who was 30 when he went in and he said the same thing your husband did...he understood what they were doing.  Is your husband called "old man" by the younger recruits?  Because our friend was...he got a kick out of it!

janlee:  My son got reamed by an RDC once when on the phone with me for leaning against the wall....all I could hear him say was, Yes, Chief, Yes, Chief.  No, Chief....amidst lots of yelling in the background!

I love it, glad they have a good humor inside..
