Also--ANYONE can attend. Friends, relatives..etc...The more the merrier. There is also a restaurant attached to the lounge where the M&G is held, if you do not feel like driving to another location. Also...NO...you do not have to be staying at the Ramada to attend.

The Meet and Greet at the Ramada is for everyone who has a sailor with PIR the next day. There will be people there who have never heard of N4M's so you can spread the word and let them know about this site.

They have a mic at the Meet and Greet and you can all pass it around and tell who you are, what your N4M's name is and a little about your Sailor. We did that and it was awesome. We also changed our profile pics a couple of weeks before PIR so we would all begin to recognize each other and put faces to names.

freebird:  Why don't you set up a MeetNGreet discussion up top?
Comment by janlee on March 13, 2011 at 11:48pm

The Meet&Greet is held at the Ramada. It is already in place for anyone who wants to attend. It is for someone in the group to spread the word and tell others. They supply name tags there, but we all made our own with some kind of N4M's symbol so we could recognize each other..It is held from 6-8pm thursday evening.

bn4gvn---i mentioned that because another mom had told me that happened to her. She said her daughter texted her and she responded with just a one word text, and that was when her son called. !! She said she had a voicemail from him a few seconds after sending the text to her daughter..the chances of that happening are slim...i was just giving a heads up...:))
Comment by Pearl Harbor MA on March 13, 2011 at 10:19pm
I just wondered because you said to not even be texting during phone call times... I got a call on the first Saturday morning he was there, about 11 or so

It could be any time...if you told your son/daughter to call your cell...then keep it with you at work (if possible). I know some moms in my group said they made it clear to their bosses that they were keeping their phones on them and the boss's were understanding. One mom even took hers into meetings with her and told her boss that if her son called, she was taking the call and he said...thats fine, just keep it on 'vibrate'...lol My first call came on a sunday (day after christmas), and i think it was late afternoon. I know for sure that his second call was at 6:00 pm ( i remember that). BUT...i live on the East Coast (PA), so it will be earlier for the West...
