hahaa1 There is never a certain date when they call, but im going to give you a ballpark, just from what i have seen on here.
Usually anywhere around the recruits being in for 21-28 days. I would LOVE to be able to say..."when the countdown clock says 33 days, you will get your call"...but i cant say that...LOL!...sorry..:(
On the subject of phone calls---Usually divisions get to call home two at a time. They are usually divided up into 'brother' divisions in BC. Example...my son was in 061 and his 'brother' division was 062. These divisions trained together, did BS21 together, etc.. and when they start to make their first calls home, usually moms will jump on here for a second (usually when dad takes the phone..lol) and will post something like ,,"DIVISION 139 making CALLS!!!"...and other moms/wives/ will know to expect one. Thats how i found out my son did BS21 a day early..i was on here and someone posted." 061 finished BS21 and calling home'...OMG, i jumped up and ran to the best spot in my house that gets a strong signal and just stood there waiting for my phone to ring. (which it did!). And if you do see that, and you know which division is their brother division, there is a good chance they will be making calls too. USUALLY...it all depends on time restraints.
lbmom--the best thing to do is keep your phone with you..like you said. It differs as to when they can call. Sometimes it just depends on the RDC's. My son went in Dec. 1st, and my first call from him was Dec 26th. The weeks are hard to count when they are in there. What is 3 weeks to us, may not be three weeks to them.
Also...they 'award' phone calls sometimes to recruits or the whole division, so that is another scenario that is always possible. Ive heard so many stories of moms missing their SR's phone call. Its wise to not even text someone at phone call times, because you may miss thier call. It will go straight to voicemail for them..lol Just let everyone around you know you do NOT want to tie up your phone, im sure they will understand..!!
The area code to look for is 847..and if you do miss a call (anyone), DO NOT call the number back...this has happened and the RDC's are pretty hard on the recruit who's 'mommy' called back...
A lot of times, if the recruit doesnt reach you the first time, they will call another number or wait a minute and call you back...so if you miss it, stay by the phone, there is a good chance they will call back.
