ggnavy---He could get his wisdom teeth pulled at any time. There are a lot of recruits getting them pulled, along with other dental needs. (my son had two root canals while in there). They are given meds and may take it easy for a few days, but nothing that will set them back so far where they cannot catch up.

Also...your GL's Aschooler will be able to see afterwards right up until curfew (9:00 pm), but they need time to get back, so its usually earlier than that. You will be able to pick him up in the AM (whichever time you decide between the two of you) and he is able to spend the entire dy with you until curfew every evening. BUT...they will have to stand watch sometime over the weekend, so he may need to get back for that (he will know when he is scheduled for that when you visit him).

So I finally got letters yesterday! It was the best feeling ever! :) Couple questions: If they are going to get their wisdom teeth out, does anyone know when that will be done? And does it affect their training time at all? He also told me that since his A school is at Great Lakes, he will have 45 minutes after graduation ceremony to visit then will be transferred to school which will take 3 hours, then will be able to visit again. Does anyone know anything about that? How much liberty does he get after he transfers his stuff?

Hey Leslie.. Thanks for the invite! The support really helps! But I;m okay.. Its really tough at times and the days are going by so slow.. Im just patiently waiting for a letter. I mailed out my first on on Monday so hopefully he'll get it this week. They say it takes a little longer because a recruit has to be trained to distribute the mail.

Yep, am booking with Southwest this week. You can also do the air/hotel/car pkg through them and it was cheaper than priceline.com

I think Southwest is the safest bet beings they don't charge a change fee should we god forbid have to change our dates...some airlines have better deals but also charge a 150.00 change fee should you need to do that.
Comment by diannep on March 9, 2011 at 12:09am

If Southwest flies from your airport (into Chicago Midway or Milwaukee WI), they have no change fee and don't charge for the first pieces of luggage.  Worth checking into!

HI everyone, sorry I have been away most of the day at the hospital with my mom. Sherri0210 has offered to help with this group so she is now also an administrator. If you need anything and I am not here Sherri should be able to help you. Thanks Sherri for offering your help. I appreciate it.
