diannep- what do you mean you signed up for that one the night before? you have to sign up for the shuttle?

clasmin:  He may not have watch himself then since he has done some already.  If others haven't had it, they may put them on instead.  My son's division was told that they try and let those with families there not have watch on PIR day and instead give it to the others...seems kind of sad.  But I don't know if they all do it that way.  Do lots of praying!

The top rows were taken when we got there in many divisions (those are the ones where you can lean back on the concrete wall.  We sat in the middle of our division section and could see perfectly.  There were people there, but it wasn't crowded yet (we had 9 divisions at my son's PIR).

Actually the shuttle driver didn't check to see if we stayed at the hotel.  We walked outside from our wing of the hotel, and the shuttle was waiting in front of the lobby.  We had signed up for that one the night before, but I asked the driver if we could get in, and he said yes.  There were only 2 other people in there.  He could have taken 2 more but didn't.  So it wasn't a problem for us.  But not sure if other hotels check that?

diannep- and do you think you got a good seat? how crowded was it when you got there?

(did the shuttle check to make sure you did stay at that hotel?)

Yep, all can change and all bets are off then!  HA!  No matter how they split it up, hoping you have lots of time with your new sailor up there!

diannep-I know I was surprised too. I have been expecting to not be able to spend much time with him on Sat, but that's what he told me today on the phone. Who knows, it can all change, right? I hope we get to be with him AMAP.

annamichael:  Residence Inn's first shuttle left at 6:30 when we were up there.  We were in our seats by a few minutes after 7.

mirrormaiden--lol..thats good. I hope it works out, i dont want to give false hope, im just passing on  my experience. Your husband will know for sure. I know the Navy is big on 'family', so i hope they have a heart and let everyone spend some alone time. Plus...those poor Sailors are dying to get off the base..lol
