annamichael:  Great news for you all.  So sorry about those with damage....we are in the Miami area that went through Hurricane Andrew back in 92.  We had over $100,000 in damage!  UGH!  FL's home insurance prices are through the roof now because of that storm.  Prayers for all affected by these storms in all states....especially those who lost loved ones.  The story of the woman found dead along with her 7 yr old son in their home (but her 18 mo old baby survived)....just broke my heart...

jennieo:  I was a bit confused by what you said about going in as a Seaman Apprentice (SA, E-2) and therefore, he could pick his homeport?  My son went in as a Seaman (E-3)....and the only way they had a pick on where they would be stationed is if they finished at the top of their class in their school.  And then only if there was availability at that base for their job.  Was this something that the recruiter told your SR?  They do make a "Dream List" and can specify choices on that.  But unless they are top of the class, they most likely won't get their first choice or even second in some cases.  Just depends on where the Navy needs them!  My son got none of his choices when he was finally stationed.

We know that DIv 143 and 144 are going through tonight.  The ones we aren't sure about are 145 and 146 going through (yes, 145 and 146 will go together).  It would make sense for all 4 to go together tonight, but not sure.  If they DO, I feel sure that 147, 148, 923 will go tomorrow(Monday) night.  That is why the schedule looks so strange in the BattleStations discussion right now.  I have put 2 possibilities down.

My advice is for all in Div 143-146 be ready for calls tomorrow, starting around 2 pm GL time, just in case.  Post when you hear and then we should know about the remaining divisions and when they go.

the house is fine!! So thankful! Other houses in the town over - Micro, were destroyed. We are very lucky and plan on helping neighbors in need.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and kind words!!

Div 145 and 146 will be going through together whenever it is, since they are brother divisions

Is div 145 going through BS tonight with Div 146?

Just keep your phones on you ladies. And if they are calling, please make sure you post on the board here to let others know (if you can). My son's division when thru a day earlier than scheduled, and we had no idea. If it wasnt for other moms posting it on the board, alot of us may have missed the call..:))

I'm not sure what they do when they don't have loved ones now, but when I was in bootcamp, my family didn't come and we just left the base and hung out.  We took a bus or a shuttle since we couldn't drive.  It really wasn't that bad.  And some parents allow others to come along with their recruit, too.  I had a great time!
