Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Doubt that is true, MirrorMaiden, but have no doubt he was told that. Games people play, if you know what I'm saying!  :-)  He should have Fri PIR liberty until about 8 or 9 pm.

So I got a letter from my husband and it said he only had on base liberty? Is that what usually what happens? He is leaving Saturday for Groton, CT.

Ok just got off the phone with Sarge. He said we should just drive from our hotel to the ceremony. Now here is my other question.......Does anyone know or was anyones loved one an Honor Recruit? Just wanted to know if there is any tips for where we need to park because we have to check in at the Public Affairs office first. Thanks! :-)

meg--here is the name/number of a taxi driver. You can also ask at the front the front desk of your hotel, they have a list of taxis. But we here good things about this guy..:)

Otay ladies we were going to take the shuttle from our hotel but it seems as though it won't leave to give us enough time to comfortabily get there. We have to be there at 7:15. So taxi seems to be the best way. I know someone was talking about a person that is well known. If anyone could give any info about taking a taxi that would be great. We want to get there with plenty of time and not rush around. Thanks a bunch!!!! <3
